Catering to Nobody by Diane Mott Davidson

Catering to Nobody – A Review

Books

This is a cozy story. It is a quick read that doesn’t ask too much of the reader but still delivers something enjoyable. I love cozy stories because sometimes you just need to escape from the stress of life into a safe book.

As a book originally published in 1990, there are definitely things that date the story. For instance some of the views of feminism and how Arch (the son) is playing Dungeons and Dragons over the phone with his friends. But they didn’t really take away my enjoyment of the book.

The mysteries themselves are well written and paced well enough to keep you reading. There is enough backstory to help you get an idea of the characters without bogging down the story.

All in all, a nice read for a lazy day in bed.
